NICK
"I work with resin because of how it transforms under different lighting conditions and its endless capabilities as a medium"
Nick combines polymer, plastic, resin, and concrete to create his luminous and vibrant sculptures. In his Radiant Squares, the colours maintain an earthy tone from the natural pigments used and the colour pairings enhance the brilliance of the colours, making them glow. With a focus on light, colour, and shape, these minimal yet powerful artworks are a dive deeper into the interaction of colour and light and are meant to instil serenity.

Q&A WITH THE ARTIST
If you had the chance to live during a different artistic movement other than now, which one would you choose?
All artistic movements come from struggle, so the one we’re in now is potentially another exciting time for artwork. So I don't think I could pick one!
If you could choose a theme song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Dorothy Ashby “Theme from Valley of the Dolls”
If you could change one aspect of our society through your work, what would it be?
To slow down and relax.
When was the first time that you remember realizing that you are a creative person?
When people thought I was different in school.
If you could interview a creative person (past or present), who would that person be?
Einstein
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? Please explain your choice.
Mexico. I love the colors, the artwork, the hardworking attitude and appreciation for having fun.
What do you wish to accomplish with your art?
To make people wonder and feel at ease.
Do you do anything special to get your "creative juices" flowing?
I wake up and make coffee, put on some tunes and get cracking.
What inspires you?
New experiences and of course nature.
Why are you an artist?
It is the best way for me to help people.
If you only had 24 hours to live, how would you spend your day?
Kind of dark haha. But I would spend it with my son doing whatever he wanted to do.
If you had the opportunity, what creative person (living or dead) would you like to work with? Why?
My grandfather. He was my greatest inspiration and so knowledgable of all aspects of what makes art/ design worth making
