Project Spotlight: Huntington Beach
When we received a call from the team at Laura Brophy Interiors asking whether we’d be interested in creating custom artwork for a condo in Huntington Beach we jumped at the opportunity. After visiting the space and hearing Laura’s vision for the interior design we set about the task of creating art concepts to fit. Our brief was to create art for three locations in the condo and we wanted to introduce looks that were clean, modern and textured, bringing an element of curation to the space. Read more below to see what we came up with!
The Entryway
This first location is front and center as you walk into the condo and we wanted to create a moment that was warm and welcoming. Pulling tones from the grey oak flooring and riffing off the clean lines of the console we created an oversize acrylic painting on canvas that was bold and minimal. We framed the painting in a maple wood floater frame.
The Living Space
One of our favorite parts of the interior in this condo is the hand crafted wood finished wall in the living room. The soft black painted wood and recessed shelf was the perfect backdrop and opportunity to introduce some textural art. We created a pair of mini paintings on raw linen using a combination of indigo and sky blue paints which added an elevated and layered look to the space.
The Kitchen
The kitchen is the focal point in the condo and is definitely the place to entertain guests and family. Because of this we wanted to add art that was fun and colorful, adding a playful element to the space. We created three mini screen prints on handmade papers with bright colors and bold designs, floated in natural oak frames.
