Colour Studies

Focusing on colour and light, this series of prints on handmade paper are colour studies. Originally watercolour paintings, the handmade Japanese washi paper brings them to life by giving them depth and texture. The pieces have exaggerated mats to emphasize the delicate and careful nature of the watercolour, allowing the viewer to concentrate on the interaction of water and colour in the painting. Framed in a hand-finished walnut shadowbox frame, the warm walnut tone complements the earthy tones of the paints. With their square shape, these artworks look best hung in a grid or in a line for a sophisticated gallery wall or accent wall.
