ABOUT THE ARTIST // HOPE

Hope’s abstract paintings are full of colour, movement, and life. Her expressive brushstrokes and carefully placed fields of colour complement one another, making for a dynamic composition that analyses the interplay between overlapping colours of varying saturations and differing applications of paint. The viewer can feel the gestural quality of Hope’s movements on the canvas, exposing the unrestrained, yet peaceful nature of Hope’s work.

ABOUT THIS COLLECTION // WATERCOLOURS

Expressive and light, the Watercolours series calms with its pastel colour scheme yet energises with dynamic brushstrokes. Printed on handmade Moenkopi Washi paper from Japan, the overlapping fields of colour and layered strokes give these prints dimension while creating movement in the composition. The natural mulberry and hemp fibres embedded in the paper give the prints subtle texture, while the paper’s translucent nature softens the image, enhancing its colours. This is our first series with abstract artist Hope who created this collection inspired by the natural world around her, showcasing her lively and vibrant style. Balancing between soft, blended colour and sharp scribbles, Hope’s art is a mix of intention and impulse, letting her creativity be her guide to a finished piece.
