How We Create Our One of a Kind Artwork
Our one of a kind section has been revamped with some well-loved favorites and never-before-seen concepts, all truly one of a kind and inimitable. Embracing the exploratory nature of art-making, we love seeing the patterns, markings, and designs that form while silkscreening and painting that make each artwork unique.
Our Canvas Paintings are made by silkscreening blocks and stripes of color on linen or khaki canvas. The toned backgrounds neutralize the colors printed on top of them, creating coordinated and balanced color schemes. Meant to accompany one another, these mini paintings are best hung in pairs or groups to make a statement.
The Ink Wash series is created through utilizing the natural movement of water across a canvas. Ink is dropped into puddles of water and disperses in different directions, creating a marbling effect. Contrasting areas of saturated and transparent color form interesting compositions and guide your eye around the painting.
The Pastel Pink Abstracts use silkscreening, painting, and drawing to create stimulating overlapping compositions. Pastel pink abstract shapes contrast with their charcoal outlines as the artwork analyzes the relationship between line and shape. Expressive and energetic, these paintings are the perfect accent to any interior in need of some excitement.
Although one of a kind artworks allow for more freedom in creation, they are still intentional and controlled in composition and color scheme. We allow the materials to move in the ways they desire, whether the ink is forming an interesting pattern, overlapping over another color, or creating variations in shade and tone. We embrace the playful relationships in the artwork attained through balancing control and free movement. With the constant experimentation occurring in our studio, different mediums get used in new ways to create something completely original and our one of a kind pieces are often the result. These mini canvas paintings were created in collections, so they make the biggest impact hung together. Part of our new series of custom frame finishes, our new warm walnut finish ties the collections together and complements the darker tones of the artwork. The hand-painted finish and natural wood grain add to the organic feel of the artwork, achieving a cohesive and curated final look.
