Custom Spotlight: Woven Abstracts
When Brooke Wagner Design contacted us to make a custom set of Woven Abstracts for their Lake Winnipesaukee project, we were excited for the task. They were interested in recreating our Mini Woven Abstracts in an extra large scale for a game room. Sending us the color scheme, carpet samples, and fabric swatches for the room, we analyzed the different color combinations to see what would work best.
We sent the designers at BWD mini swatches of our papers with different yarn samples and they settled on yellow, red, and light blue yarn paired with our natural Nepalese paper. In addition, we showed them other custom Woven Abstracts we had created in the same scale so they could get a sense of the size and proportions of the artwork. Once the size and colorways were approved, we started production!
After the artworks were completed, we sent images of the artworks to the designers at BWD to get final approval before they were sent to be framed. The artworks were framed in maple shadowbox frames and then shipped to the client’s residence in Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire. With our collaborative approach, BWD played a role in the creation of the artworks, deciding on the size and color combinations to make sure the pieces would fit into their project. In addition, they were updated throughout the process, approving each stage of the artwork to make sure the progress was in line with the initial concept. Seeing the artworks hanging on the walls of their project is the most gratifying feeling for us, with the artworks fitting perfectly into the space.
